Reference Library

Reference Library is a collection of hand-made book spines made using only the facilities available to Pilkington at Kingston School of Art. Intended as a tactile educational tool for students, audience members are encouraged to consider how material and formal elements impact the communication of a book by interacting with each spine and engaging with its tactile qualities. 

Reference Library was also showcased as part of an ongoing university-based publications forum, that educators and practitioners Rachel Lillie and Russell Weekes are organising alongside Pilkington.
